I heard rumors that this will be the last madden for ps2..... thats most likely true.which im fine with...

It was the same issue as last year, when 10 was announced there was no indication that ther was online, but it was still there, so why would this year be any different.

I emailed EA and this is the response given to me:

Thank you for writing to Electronic Arts customer support.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience. We would like to inform you that this game would be available for PS 2. But we do not have any official confirmation regarding the online playing option. We deeply request you to wait for some more time before ordering the game.

If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know.

If EA does not know if it will be available to play online with the release date being 16 days away, well it leads me to beleive it will NOT be. I did the same email last year, 3 weeks from the release and they emailed and said it was.

The final game has to be done by now with the specs of the game completed because who will spend the money to pre-order it, if the customer service dept does not even know.

LOOK LIKE EA HAS DECIDE TO TAKE OUT THE PS2 COMMUNITY AND THERE ARE DOING IT IN A WAY THAT IS GOING TO HURT. WITH OUT THE ONLINE FEATURES THE MADDEN GAMES IS CONSIDER DEAD TO PLAYERS THAT WANT TO BETTER THERE SKILLS ON MADDEN. WE ALL KNOW WE CAN BEAT THE CPU BUT TO TRY THAT AGAINST REAL COMP MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. IT IS A SHAME THAT EA HAS TO RESULT IN CHEAP TRICKS TO SCREW THE PS2 USER AND BRAND. SO LEAGUES TOURNAMENTS AND ONLINE BATTLES ALL GO BY THE WAYSIDE DUE TO THE FACT GUYS WASNT CHANGING OVER TO NEXT GEN. THIS IS COMPLETE BULL S$$$. AND THEY DIDNT HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY A WORD LET YOU GO IN THE STORE AND BUY IT AND YOU CANT GET ONLINE. JUST LIKE A USE CAR SALESMAN THAT SELLING YOU A LEAMON. Just some info, Madden 11 will be on the PS2 this year the cost will be around 40 bucks.

Same exact thing was happening last year, don't worry. They should know that if they outed the ps2 online they would loose thousands of customers so they wouldn't just pull the plug on ps2 online, especially in the last year of ps2 production (apparrently).

I have no intentions what so ever on closing up shop.



I do have a ps3, but im not quite ready to hop onto the online scene just yet, I love my ps2, I'm going to get M11 either way.

Well the one with the online patch is the official case, the one without is the "internet case". There was an official case for m10 (which had the online patch), and an internet case (which didnt have the online patch).

Yea the Official Case is printed by Playstation, Xbox and other manufacturers. The internet case is made by EA just to show you the cover.
